My goal in moving to New York City was to start a blog for friends and family to keep up with our adventures. Here we are 6 months in, and I am posting my very first blog post ever. Well better late than never right? I have a lot to catch everyone up on and I plan to touch on every adventure we have taken.
Starting off with a recap of our 2015 Halloween. If there is one thing of many things NYC does right, it’s Halloween. There was so much going on, it seemed like every street had something festive to do. The weekend before Halloween we went to the Tompkins Square Park dog parade. Our other Home Depot friends and their baby tagged along with us as well. To say Crew is obsessed with dogs is an understatement. People not only spend a lot of money on their own costumes but their dog costumes as well.
The week of, I had to pull together a last minute costume including what we have in our closet (which is not much in our tiny 570 sq ft apartment.) Here I give you the “Hipster Lumberjack” look. We were more lazy than we intended on being and lounged around watching college football until about 6pm. Headed up to the rooftop of our apartment to snap a few photos before leaving for the parade on 6th avenue. We squeezed our way into a spot with somewhat good views of the parade and stayed for about half before finding a way out of the crowd to head home to put the kiddos to bed. Crew did AMAZING for being up way past his bedtime. I figured out a way to nurse him in the Tula for a little night cap and he passed right out. Once home, he had so much energy you would have thought he ate an entire bag of candy.
Next year will sure be a different experience back in the suburbs. I hope everyone had a wonderful and festive Halloween!
